Deep frying in a big pan wastes oil and coats the hob in splatter. This 1200ml pot is sized for the job: a narrow, deep well lets a small volume of oil sit deep enough to actually fry, so chips, tempura, wings or doughnuts cook properly in a fraction of what a wide pan would swallow.

Less oil also means it reaches temperature faster and cools down quicker afterwards. The strainer basket lifts a whole batch clear in one movement and hooks onto the rim so oil drains back into the pot rather than onto the counter. A lid contains splatter while frying and keeps the oil clean between uses. The body is heavy-gauge stainless steel, which spreads heat evenly and will not warp, and the handle sits away from the hottest zone above the oil. It works on both gas and electric hobs.

It handles tempura, karaage, chips, croquettes, samosas, fried chicken and doughnuts in an ordinary domestic kitchen. Hot oil is genuinely dangerous: never fill past the marked level, never leave the pot unattended, keep water and wet food well away, and never try to move a pot of hot oil. Keep children and pets out of the kitchen while frying, and have a lid or fire blanket within reach.
